This is the story of my life! I too had a charismatic salesman who told me what a great deal I was getting and how all of all of this extra stuff he was throwing in would help me on the Internet and keep me safe. I was an easy target though; I walked into the store with a clueless expression on my face and asked them what a router was when they told me that was what I was looking for. I ended up going home with a whole new system, and a supposedly incredible virus blocker. After using the computer for a month, everything seemed fine, and I was pleased with the purchase. Shortly after though, I realized someone had been making unauthorized withdrals from my bank account, and I tracked it with the police’s help and caught the guy. He had broken right through my “flimsy” (in his words) virus protector, and stolen my data. After this incident, I vowed to know more about the technology before I used it. I learned that an open IP address is the easiest way to get tracked and hacked; so I fixed the problem. My change IP proxy works like a charm and is perfect to keep me safe and anonymous online.
